Turner - 1835 – Impressionistic
Landscape
The SF Showplace Square Lobby was redone in this “color
field” that started at the floor in gray and brown and flowed
upward approximately 30 feet in a “sunrise – sunset” blend
of color. The technique was done in three processes. First an under-painting
of deep and bright color was applied, followed by a layer of paint
applied with scrunched paper and plastic. The final step was to stain
the second application back to the first, marrying the layers together.
