Botticelli – 1485 – The
Birth of Venus
We took the floating roses from this painting and
projected them on to tissue paper. Then the room was painted with
lavender shading to white to gold to white and then to a deep periwinkle
at the baseboard. A poem of the client’s choosing was traced
and painted in a band around the room. The roses were playfully rendered
floating and flying as in the original painting. (Mark Melvin – Designer)
